President Prabowo Subianto expressed his appreciation for the officers and participants of the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day, emphasizing his pride in their dedication. Prabowo extended his gratitude to all participants for their commitment to carrying out the ceremony with great spirit from morning until evening.
He specifically instructed Ceremony Commander Colonel Slamet to convey his personal thanks to each participant, underscoring his pride in the orderly, disciplined, and spirited nature of the ceremony. In accordance with the president’s directive, 80 percent of the invitations were allocated to the general public. The day’s events included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace on a royal carriage, followed by a People’s Festival showcasing cultural performances and free culinary delights, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display around Monas.
The 80th Independence Day festivities will culminate in the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025. This grand event will stretch from Monas along Jalan MH Thamrin to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, marking the peak of the celebrations.
