Prabowo Welcomes Macron at Presidential Palace: Red, White, Blue

Indonesia and France have enjoyed diplomatic relations for more than seven decades, dating back to 1947. Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron received a grand state welcome in Jakarta, reflecting the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between the two countries. The ceremonial event, held at Merdeka Palace with around 3,000 students in attendance, showcased the strong bond shared by Indonesia and France. President Macron, escorted by tight security, was warmly greeted by President Prabowo Subianto upon his arrival at the palace. The two leaders then proceeded to the ceremonial grounds, where the national anthems of both countries were played, followed by a 21-gun salute as a formal tribute. Minister from the Red and White Cabinet, as well as Prabowo’s son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo, attended the event along with other dignitaries.

President Macron’s visit to Indonesia included trips to the Military Academy in Magelang and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Borobudur Temple, emphasizing the shared cultural and educational values between Indonesia and France. Following the elaborate welcome ceremony, President Macron and President Prabowo engaged in a closed-door bilateral meeting to discuss strategic partnerships and deepen ties between the two nations. This meeting marks an important step in strengthening the relationship and fostering cooperation between Indonesia and France.
